After shooting the series Silhouette Skate earlier in the year I was inspired to expand this to other sports. At first I wasn’t sure what sport I wanted to feature next and then was randomly reminded of flatland BMX from a Facebook post I saw of someone looking for a bike. Immediately I knew this would look good as the moves are dramatic and create interesting shape and form.

I found rider Mickael Loiodice. We had never met, but when I shared my idea with him he was down to give it a go. It took us a few months to finally be able to connect, but once we did we were able to create this series of images. While with the skateboarding I was only aiming for one photo, with the biking I wanted to create a series of images that showcased different moves and good live together, but with each image still being powerful enough to each live individually.
